Our Commitment to Accessibility

As part of our dedication to inclusivity, we regularly review and update our project website to ensure it complies with accessibility standards. Our goal is to enable all visitors, regardless of ability, to navigate and interact with our site effectively.

What Accessibility Means to Us

At Grove, we are committed to ensuring that our community event is accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities. We aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where all participants can fully engage in the event. Should you encounter any barriers to access, please inform us so that we can take action to address the issue promptly.

Our Accessibility Features

We understand the importance of providing an accessible experience for all attendees. Our event will meet the accessibility standards required by UK legislation, including the Equality Act 2010, which mandates that public events make reasonable adjustments to accommodate individuals with disabilities. This may include providing wheelchair access, accessible restrooms, and additional support as necessary.

Event Features to Enhance Accessibility

  • Wheelchair Access: The event venue will be fully accessible to wheelchair users, including ramps, wide doorways, and designated seating areas.

  • Assistive Listening Devices: We will provide hearing loops or other assistive listening devices for those with hearing impairments.

  • Sign Language Interpreters: Where possible, we will arrange for sign language interpreters to assist with communication during key sessions.

  • Alternative Formats: Event materials (e.g., schedules, presentations) will be available in accessible formats, including large print and digital formats compatible with screen readers.

Health and Safety Policy

We take the safety and well-being of our attendees, staff, and volunteers seriously. All participants must comply with health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Our policies comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, which requires us to take all reasonable steps to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of individuals at our event.

Key Health and Safety Measures:

  • First Aid: Trained first aid staff will be on-site at all times during the event.

  • Emergency Procedures: Clear signage will be displayed to guide attendees in case of an emergency evacuation. All staff and volunteers will be briefed on emergency protocols.

  • COVID-19 Considerations: While current guidelines may vary, we will implement appropriate health measures such as sanitation stations, mask-wearing protocols (if required), and social distancing where applicable.
