Grove Gatherings & Events
Grove unfolds through seasonal gatherings that bring our community together to sing, share food, plant seeds, exchange clothes and listen deeply to one another. Rooted in inclusivity, creativity and care, each event builds on the last — growing connections, conversations and collective energy over time.
Previous Gatherings
Our Summer and Winter Grove gatherings laid the foundations for what Grove is becoming. These events brought together diverse community singing groups, shared meals made from nourishing ancestral recipes, seed planting, clothes swaps, creative documentation and open spaces for conversation. Each gathering offered a chance to slow down, participate and experience what happens when music, food and community care are woven together.
The summer gathering focused on growth, openness and outdoor connection, while the winter gathering created warmth, reflection and holding during darker months. Together, they shaped Grove as a living, responsive space — one that listens to the people within it and evolves accordingly.
Upcoming Grove Events – 2026
We’re delighted to announce two major Grove gatherings in 2026:
-
Spring Grove – May 2026
A celebration of emergence, renewal and shared intention. Expect singing, seed planting, shared food, creative exchange and space to reconnect after winter. -
Autumn Grove – October 2026
A gathering rooted in harvest, reflection and gratitude. This event will bring together music, food, storytelling and community exchange as we mark the turning of the seasons.
These seasonal events act as anchors — moments where the wider Grove community comes together to celebrate, reflect and set intentions for what grows next.
Growing Grove: Place, Land & Community Conversations
Looking ahead, there is exciting potential for Grove to become more deeply rooted in place. One emerging vision is the growing and cultivation of the old bowling green in St George’s Park, transforming it into a shared community space for music, planting, gathering and conversation.
This space could host Grove events, workshops and informal meet-ups, offering a physical home where creativity and care can continue to grow.
We are also exploring the possibility of receiving support from Bristol City Council’s ‘Community Conversations’ fund, which would enable Grove to further centre listening, dialogue and creative exchange. This funding could support the capturing and sharing of community voices, particularly from underrepresented groups, and help Grove continue to evolve in response to what the community expresses and needs.
Gatherings Throughout the Year
Between the larger seasonal events, Grove continues to live through smaller gatherings, workshops and sessions led by Grove facilitators and community groups. These moments help keep connections strong, deepen relationships and sustain the creative energy that flows through the Grove network.
These year-round offerings might include:
-
community singing sessions
-
creative workshops
-
shared meals or informal meet-ups
-
collaborative projects with local organisations and green spaces
Together, they ensure that Grove is not just something that happens twice a year, but an ongoing, evolving community.

Past & Upcoming Events
Summer Grove 2025
Our inaugural Summer Grove brought together a joyful mix of community voices and music under the warmth of the season. Participants enjoyed seed planting, shared meals, and vibrant performances from the Dovetail Orchestra, BYOB Choir, and the OAK Choir. Creative exchanges flourished with a clothes swap, photography exhibition, and workshops led by The Beehive Singing Circle, setting the tone for Grove as a space of inclusion, creativity, and connection.

Winter Grove 2025
The Winter gathering created a cozy, reflective atmosphere as the community came together to celebrate, share stories, and explore music and creativity. Musical highlights included MMILK (Mothers in Music Improv Group), BYOB Choir, and OAK Choir. Participants also engaged in community garden planting, pop-up culinary experiences, and collaborative workshops, reinforcing Grove’s commitment to nurturing intergenerational, cross-cultural connections.

Spring Grove – May 2026
Looking ahead, our Spring Grove will celebrate renewal and new beginnings. Participants can expect interactive singing sessions, community garden planting, and shared creative workshops, alongside performances from Dovetail Refugee Orchestra, OAK Choir, and BYOB Choir. The event will also feature pop-up cultural food experiences, creative documentation, and inclusive workshops, offering opportunities to participate, listen, and co-create.

Autumn Grove – October 2026
Our Autumn Grove will focus on harvest, reflection, and collective celebration. Musical performances from the OAK Choir, MMILK, BYOB Choir, and Dovetail Orchestra members will bring the space alive, while creative collaborations, seed planting, and workshops continue to engage the community. This gathering aims to capture community voices through artistic practice, celebrate cultural exchange, and strengthen connections across generations, sustaining Grove’s inclusive and evolving spirit.

Smaller Gatherings & Community Conversations
Between the larger Grove events, smaller gatherings keep the community energy flowing and vibrant. These intimate sessions, led by practitioners and facilitators, focus on community conversations, creative workshops, and shared learning. Whether it’s song circles, storytelling sessions, or seed planting workshops, these gatherings offer a chance to connect, reflect, and build deeper bonds within the community. If you have an offering that aligns with Grove’s ethos of inclusivity, creativity, and connection, we invite you to enquire about facilitating a gathering or workshop. Together, we continue to nurture the collective momentum of Grove throughout the year.

Grove 2027 and Beyond -
Looking forward, Grove’s vision is to grow and take shape organically, shaped by the needs, creativity, and voices of the community itself. Every event, from singing circles to seed planting, clothes swaps, shared meals, and creative workshops, is designed to amplify underrepresented voices, ensuring they are heard, valued, and celebrated. Grove aims to be a living, evolving space, where the community leads the way, influencing what unfolds, what is created, and how connections are nurtured. By listening, responding, and reflecting the stories and perspectives of those often unheard, Grove continues to build a vibrant, inclusive, and participatory network for music, creativity, and shared care.
